Thank you for your interest in serving on the worship team at Wilmington Church of Christ! We are looking for vocalists and musicians who recognize their role in leading worship as part of a team whose role is to foster an environment and atmosphere of worship. We believe that worship team members should exemplify what it means to worship in spirit and in truth and should lead the congregation by using the platform not for showcasing individual talents, but rather a place of service to the congregation.
Please take time to read the following expectations that we have for our team members. If you feel you meet those requirements, please fill out an application and submit a video evaluation.
Expectations: The time requirement for serving on the WCC worship team is 6+ hours (1.5 hours Wednesday rehearsal, 4 hours Sunday morning, 1 hour personal practice). Because rehearsal time is limited, each member is expected to come to rehearsal fully prepared, knowing and able to play/sing their part for each song for that Sunday.
Each person serves depending on availability and team need.
What we are looking for in Vocalists:
- Excellent vocal skills (quality, tone, blending, versatility)
- Able to hear and learn music at home independently prior to rehearsals
- Attend all scheduled rehearsals
- Respond to communication and scheduling requests in a timely manner
What we are looking for in Musicians:
- Proficient in playing your chosen instrument(s)
- Be able to adapt musically in a band environment
- Learn songs by listening to recordings and reading chord charts or sheet music.
- Attend all scheduled rehearsals
- Respond to communication and scheduling requests in a timely manner
The process will look like this:
Phase 1: Video Evaluation and Online Application
Phase 2: Live evaluation and interview
Phase 3: Sit in on rehearsals for several weeks
Phase 4: Sunday mornings on regular rotation
